What Are Staking Validators?
Staking validators are entities or nodes in a proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain network responsible for validating transactions and securing the network. By staking your crypto assets with a validator, you delegate your tokens to help maintain the blockchain while earning rewards.
When you stake through Gem Wallet, the app loads the validators available for that network. The list can differ by blockchain and can change over time, so use the validator list shown in the current app rather than relying on a fixed provider list.

How Do I Choose a Validator?â
Review the information available in Gem Wallet, including the validator's status, estimated APR, and commission. A high APR alone does not guarantee better results: validator performance, commission changes, network conditions, and protocol rules can all affect rewards.
Are There Risks with Validators?â
Staking is not risk-free. Depending on the network, validator downtime or misconduct may reduce rewards or result in slashing. A validator can also become inactive. Check the validator status and understand the blockchain's staking rules before delegating.
How Are Rewards Distributed?â
Rewards are calculated according to the blockchain's protocol and may be reduced by validator commission. Some networks add rewards to the delegation automatically, while supported networks show a Claim Rewards action when active rewards are available. Follow the action shown for your delegation in Gem Wallet.

Can I Switch Validators?â
Redelegation is available only on supported networks. If Gem Wallet shows a Redelegate action for the delegation, you can select another validator without first completing a normal unstaking flow. Network waiting periods and other restrictions still apply.
